At Camp Steinfjord, we’re perfectly positioned with iconic views just around the corner. The spiny “Devil’s Teeth” ridge, the skywalk at Bergsbotn, Ersfjords beach and its ”Golden toilet” are just a few of the highlights. Buzzing around the island, the road itself is a big part of the experience: switchbacks, sea cliffs, tunnels boring through mountains.
The route for the day is shaped by weather and road conditions. Do we head north towards the sheer faces of Segla and Hesten and stroll the hardy little island of Husøy? Or south through the mountain pass toward Torsken?
We share stories and lore about trolls, cod, halibut, reindeer, and what it means to live this far north when the days are short and the light is everything. The traveling is unhurried, comfortable, with time for photos and your hot beverage of choice.
